Philly Spring Clean-up

My first real post ever! Today I participated in the 2nd annual Philly Spring Clean-up event. Mayor Nutter started this last year as way to raise awareness about keeping the city clean and beautiful. Last year over 15000 people participated all over Philadelphia. I'm curious to see what the number will be this year.

I was based at the Roberto Clemente park & rec center at 18th and Wallace. What a cool experience! It was so great to meet and work with the Rec Leader, neighborhood kids, and other volunteers. It was a blustery day, but we managed to paint playground equipment, pick up trash, and fix the baseball diamond.
